We highly advise that you only send emails to prospects who have expressly requested to be contacted by you. Unless this is done, it may appear to be an invasion of personal space. Essentially, this first email functions as a “welcome mat” for the rest of your electronic correspondence. Make sure you don’t overload yourself with too much information! Instead, introduce yourself swiftly and informally and provide a brief overview of what you can offer them. Begin by posing the following questions to yourself:

- Why are you sending them an email? What kind of value do you bring to the table for them?

Remember that you are addressing strangers in a very private space: their Inbox. The fact that you have made it this far and they haven’t unsubscribed from you or designated your emails as spam indicates that they are keeping you around for a good reason. This is your opportunity to truly pique their attention with this email.
- Use of an invitation or incentive to participate in a local event It serves as a reminder of the resources you have available on your website. The following is an inspirational and recent testimonial: Requesting confirmation that they still wish to receive emails or e-Alerts is another option.
