How Long Does It Take to Receive Your License?

TREC-Required Course Timing
According to TREC regulations, you are not permitted to complete more than 12 hours of Pre-License coursework every day. More than one qualifying course must be started and completed within the same three-day period in order to be in compliance with Commission guidelines. Aside from that, TREC will only allow a student to enroll in one 30-hour course at a time. Alternate Education or Prior Experience
Candidates must complete the required courses from a Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) approved education provider before being considered for admission. Alternative, replacement, or comparable coursework is not permitted for the purpose of applying for a Texas real estate broker’s license. In general, the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) will not accept a license from another state, or prior experience in real estate brokerage or any related business, as proof of completion of the education and experience requirements for a real estate license in the state of Texas.
Texas SAE Post-License Education Requirements
The first licensing duration is two (2) years. After that, the license is renewable. Within a two-year period, you must complete 90 hours of Qualifying (SAE) courses as well as two 4-hour TREC Legal Update courses in order to maintain your Texas real estate license renewal. You are permitted to pick any SAE or Qualifying courses designated by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) that you have not already completed during your pre-licensing period.
